Chicory is a green leafy plant, similar to arugula, high in vitamins, minerals and healthy antioxidants. It contains a sweet and delicious fibre that we have used to sweeten our Protein Chocolate, and thus we have avoided using polyols that alter the intestinal microbiota.
For the past 2 years, our R&D team has been working on perfecting a unique and innovative chocolate recipe for you to rediscover chocolate. The result? The usual chocolate flavour, with a creamy and crunchy texture at the same time, prepared in a healthy way: without sugars and without polyols.
How is chicory fibre different from polyol sweeteners?
While polyalcohol sweeteners like erythritol, maltitol or chilitol (yes, they usually end up in -itol) are known to negatively affect the gut microbiota, chicory fibre is a totally natural alternative that has the opposite effect: it’s a powerful prebiotic.
Prebiotics are a type of functional food of natural and healthy origin that improve and promote the intestinal microbiota, promote digestion and regulate blood sugar levels. They are all advantages and contain all the sweet taste of sugar, yet they contain 0g of sugar.
